In a way, that’s a loaded question. You can get a Garmin nuvi anywhere from $150 to $900.
If you’re just getting into GPS devices and you want an entry level unit, you can do no better than the Garmin nuvi 200. I love Garmin’s quality , and for a mid-range product, I can not think of a better buy than the nuvi 360.
All the 360 lacks is a larger screen, multiple point routing, and maybe maps of Europe . Is the larger screen necessary? If you want to go all out and buy one of the top of the line Garmin GPS units , then consider the 880.
If you buy one of these Garmin GPS units I’ve mentioned, then you can’t go wrong. Actually, you can’t go wrong buying any Garmin product.
How do you easily compare Garmin GPS units ? As of the writing of this article, Garmin has listed on its site 27 automotive GPS, 10 basic handhelds, 26 mapping handhelds, 10 fitness GPS, and 4 cycling GPS. These numbers are current units.
You may be surprised to know that the best place to compare Garmin GPS is on the Garmin website.
Garmin has a feature on its website that will let you compare four GPS units side by side down to the most detailed level.
For our example, let’s compare the Garmin GPS units in the new Garmin Nuvi 1200 Series. On the right side of the screen, you will see a small square box by each unit. Scroll down this comparison table and look for gray shaded rows.
Garmin does not permit comparison of current units with discontinued units. If you have a hunter on your gift list this holiday season you may want to consider getting them a GPS unit.
